How a

Prepares for Thanksgiving...

Mind:

Enjoy Your Break

Its so important to realize when its time to make memories.
This holiday I urge you to sit back and enjoy the things that matter most...your family, your friends, your faith. (Not necessarily in that order, either).
Here's a few ideas to help you relax and recognize your blessings.

Journal your thoughts. Find a small pretty book that has a nice cover. List all the people who have influenced you in any way-negative or positive. Next to their name list how they have impacted your life. Highlight the good and cross off the bad. Reflect on the decisions you have made with these people. List why you are thankful for each person. Keep this journal private. Your thoughts are for you only so be open and honest. Make sure to date and sign each entry.
Have a Girls-Night-Out Holiday party. Nothing too large but keep it fancy.Go out to dinner or over a friend's house. Meet up and chat about the holidays. Share your plans with each other.
Its good to find out what your friends are up to. Dress really nice and take pictures.
Try to do this before Thanksgiving if possible.
Some of the pictures you take can make great Christmas gifts.
This is a great place to meet

Body:

Look Great

With all the hoopla its easy to get distracted from your looks. Please don't. All it takes is a little planning. Here are some ideas of what to wear on Thanksgiving.
Remember, this is usually when you see distant family and friends who love to judge you.
You should look exactly how you want to be perceived.
Check out these styling ideas.

Soul-Show You Are Grateful

Christmas is not the only time to send gifts. Select 3 people that you will send a small gift to.
Use your list to decide who you really want to show your kindness to.
If you want, try to send "Thank You" cards to your friends & family.
Make phone calls to the family members that you barely see.
This is a kind act that cost you nothing. Get inspired with this video!

Watch these movies to get in the family spirit, too.

this seasons haute trend

Back in the day, boots were made for men to battle the cold weather and water. At different heights and styles its hard to choose. We just stole them in the 60's, added a stiletto and named them Go-Go boots. After seeing "Barbarella" and "Charlie's Angels" how could you not fall in love? So, I selected a few styles that I like. I remembered to shop shoes that we can afford so I found a great store online and in the neighborhood: Barefeet Shoes. Enjoy!

Barbarella

Kim's boots are stunning and we can afford them!

TIPS

How-To:Knee Boots

How-To:Knee Boots by mondaystyle
It seems like any boot that extends past your ankle is sexy and defines women liberation.
Remember to wear the boot second-to-skin cause soggy boots are a mess.
Check out my teacher version of this season's haute trend.
Don't mind me, I'm just coasting through this class.
Remember to style trends that can mesh into your wardrobe and lifestyle.

Post comments and pictures with your boots on.

I Love To Read...

Do you remember the School Book Fair?
Believe it or not I really feel like a kid in a candy store.
Books are a perfect way to visit another city or meet someone new. Every fab doll I know has a book handy.
Reading is so appropriate.
So, whats your favorite book?

These are my picks:

Disney Cookbook-I love to cook new recipes so this book is perfect.
Feeling like a princess while I cook is even better.
Hunger Games Series-The movie is awesome and the books are even better. I like the imagery that is written so I can use my imagination. This helps with my creative process.
Superstars:How They Got Famous- I can be a fan...sometimes. This book is the best way to snoop around the celebrities lives without reading tabloids.
Emeraldalicious- Its a elementary book but I'm feeling the color Emerald.
Guinness World Records 2014- This book is super interesting. It just reminds me that life is bigger than my circle of people. I mean there are people out there trying to achieve goals and live life. Its cool.
Candy Experiments- Boiling and mixing up candy is another excuse for me to eat it. 'Nuff said.
My style is super slump today.
I didn't really feel like it so I kept it simple.
When you don't feel it- a white T-shirt is ideal.
Pair it with flats, jeans, and cute jewelry.
Now, go read a book and tell me about it!

"The woman is the most perfect doll that I have dressed with delight and admiration."
                                                     — Karl Lagerfeld

So, my color choice of the season is Pantone's EMERALD! I love to pair it with gold. You should definitely try to incorporate this color in to your 'drobe. If your nervous about it then try the color on your nails or eye make-up first. Either way this is so necessary for Fall 2013. Its haute. Here- I styled a look on Polyvore first then I tried to find similar clothes in my closet. I don't have green shoes so I paired a lacy blue wedge to compliment the hue. Its pretty close right?

So as you might have heard, Miami Auto Show 2013 is in town from November 8th-17th. I went on the second day. It was really crowded. You can browse every car maker and most body styles on the planet. its awesome. I had a time figuring out what to wear. I needed to style myself.
So, here is my vision.
Car Show Thug

And here is what I put together with what I actually had  in my closet. I couldn't choose between two purses so I brought them both.I had a blast strutting around each 'car lot' in my laced up heels. I wanted to bring my dream car home with me: TESLA. But instead I just got a Auto Expo souvenir magazine. Yay!...Well living on that teacher salary may not afford that. I mean teaching is so self rewarding though. Who am I kidding? Dollar, dollar, bills ya'll.

What's in My Purse?

First of all that is a nosy question. I mean really. But I'm sure I can make good out of this. So, I'm going through my purse contents after class today. Watch my video.
Also, I had to share my lunch with you. It was so good. I had a Buffalo chicken tender sub at Publix...
It WAS finger licking but I'm not messing up my pink tips for no sandwich.

Ok, so I want your feedback. What did you think was going to be in there? What's in your purse?

No, not fashion designers who design great costumes. I want to look at fashion designers who wake up looking like a dream... or nightmare! Halloween is the perfect occasion to style yourself like a fashionista. Here are my top five!

5. Sonia Rykiel-fashion designer

I really like her hair and red-orange mane. She designs clothes that are just as funky as her persona. Most of the garments on her runway are modeled by look-alike Sonia's.

4. Anna Wintour-Vogue Editor-in-Chief

Everyone knows Anna. She is infamous for her dark shades and bob cut. She always dresses very 'ja-ja' and chic. What can I say? She is VOGUE.

3. Karl Lagerfeld-fashion designer

Karl is best known for his legendary contribution to the Chanel empire. He always rocks B&W like a beat. He made the list, though, for his gray hair confidence. I love it and in a few more years I may need it..

2. Betsey Johnson-fashion designer

Prom? Homecoming? Quince? Betsey is the fashion designer to seek if you really want to make a statement. Her clothes are pop culture meets Malibu barbie. You're sure to turn heads dressed as her.

1. Ugly Betty-popular television novela

Yes! I need Ugly Betty in my life. She is such a mess that she won my best costume choice. I loved watching her show and pray that it will return one day. Until then I will have to Netflix for my Ugly fix.
